BPK Board Member VI Expects State Finances to be Managed for the Greatest Prosperity of the People

The BPK Board Member VI, Harry Azhar Azis witnessed the handover ceremony of the Head of BPK Representative Office in South Sulawesi Province in Makassar on Tuesday. The handover from Widiyatmantoro to Wahyu Priyono was held at the Auditorium of the BPK Representative Office in South Sulawesi Province.

Accompanied by the Principal Auditor VI, Dori Santosa, the Board Member VI revealed that in 2009, regional governments receiving unqualified opinion were only 3%. At the present time, the number has reached 76%. This showed the awareness of local officials in Indonesia, especially since the reform era, has been much better.

"I hope all regional governments have not been satisfied yet with the highest opinion gained. The success of managing regional finances is not only seen from the achievement of the unqualified opinion. More than that, the management of the state finances must be in accordance with the mandate of the 1945 Constitution while managed for the greatest prosperity of the people," the Board Member VI said.

The handover ceremony was attended also by the Governor of the South Sulawesi Province, Nurdin Abdullah, a Member of the House of Representatives, Amir Uskara, a Senator of the House of Regional Representatives, Ajiep Padindang, the Chairman of the Regional House of Representative of South Sulawesi Province, Moh. Roem, Regents and Mayors within South Sulawesi regions, other invited guests from the regional government apparatus, as well as officials of the BPK Representative Office in South Sulawesi Province.
