BPK Meets a Number of Ministries and Institutions to Obtain Government Responses

The Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) conducted a closed meeting with a number of ministries/institutions at the Auditorium of the BPK Head Office on Wednesday. The meeting was intended to obtain responses to the draft of BPK’s Audit Report, as well as to mark the exit meeting of the audit on the central government financial statements Fiscal Year 2018.

The Chairman of BPK, Moermahadi Soerja Djanegara, said that the government responses were needed to provide objective information to the Audit Report. This is in accordance with the State Financial Audit Standards (SPKN) directing BPK to communicate the results of its audits to the audited entities to get responses. "After obtaining responses, BPK will immediately finalize the audit report to be submitted to the House of Representatives (DPR)," he said.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani revealed that, the government is trying to continuously improve the quality of the financial statements. "The government has made various improvements of systems and policies to produce more reliable, accurate and accountable financial statements," she stated.

The central government financial statement is a form of accountability of the central government in the implementation of the state budget. The 2018 central government financial statements is a consolidation of 86 financial statements of state ministries and institutions and a financial statements of the State General Treasurer (LKBUN).

The meeting was also attended by the Vice Chairman of BPK, Bahrullah Akbar, BPK Board Member II, Agus Joko Pramono, BPK Board Member III, Achsanul Qosasi, and leaders and officials of BPK and invited ministries and institutions.
