BPK Reaffirms the Implementation of Integrity Zone Development

The Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) held a workshop on the Development of Integrity Zones and the Implementation of Quality Management Systems, Risk Management Systems and Anti Bribery Management Systems within the scope of the Implementation of Integrity Zones in the BPK. The workshop was held for 3 (three) days from August 13 to 15, 2018 at the BPK Head Office in Jakarta.

In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the BPK, Moermahadi Soerja Djanegara said the BPK had a mandate to audit the management and accountability of the state finance. "In carrying out its mandate, the BPK is aware of the need to strengthen the quality of its audits and institution, through the governance of integrity, independency and professionalism”, the Chairman said.

In order to improve the quality of audits and institution, the BPK faces challenges that can disrupt its performance and credibility as an audit institution. Acts of abuse of authority, acts that violate laws and regulations, standards, the code of ethics as well as the weakness of supervision, are several things that can hinder the achievement of the BPK's vision and mission.

One of the steps taken by the BPK to achieve its vision and mission is through the development of an integrity zone. Integrity zone development is constructed from human resources, governance, facilities and infrastructure, information technology, software, monitoring and evaluation, that are supported by the BPK’s innovation to remain the best.

Integrity zone development is part of the bureaucratic reform, of which the success will affect the welfare of BPK’s employees. For this reason, it should be the concern of all parties to maintain the good value and improve the value of bureaucratic reform at the BPK even better. "Therefore, let us continue to maintain integrity, independency and professionalism, which starts from ourselves that will eventually lead to the maintenance of the honor and credibility of the BPK as an institution", the Chairman said.

Also present in the workshop were the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, Asman Abnur, the BPK Secretary General, Bahtiar Arif, The Principal Inspector of the BPK, Ida Sundari, and other BPK’s Senior High Officials.
