Holding a Training with AITI - BAI of Korea, BPK Improves the Audit Quality Assurance System

The BPK Board Member II, Agus Joko Pramono delivered his opening remark at the Single Country Training on Public Audit Capacity Building Program held in Seoul, South Korea. The training was the implementation of the bilateral cooperation between BPK and Board of Audit and Inspection of Republic of Korea (BAI), which was funded by the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). The training was officially opened by the President of the Audit and Inspection Training Institute (AITI), Namgung Ki-Jeong, who was accompanied by other AITI officials.

The Single Country Training Program held from October 15 to 27, 2018 was attended by 15 BPK employees. The theme taken was regarding the audit quality assurance. The AITI and BAI have compiled curriculum materials to be provided during the training, which included the audit system in Korea, the internal supervision and the implementation of quality control in the BAI. At the end of the training program, participants will be required to formulate an action plan on the audit quality assurance according to the needs of the organization.

In his remarks, the Board Member II expressed his appreciation to the AITI and BAI for the opportunity given to BPK employees to attend the third year of the Single Country Training Program. It is expected that through this training, participants will be able to gain knowledge and experiences learned from the BAI in developing the quality of the audit quality assurance system in BPK.

On the occasion, the Board Member II also gave a lecture on the audit quality assurance practices in Indonesia to training participants, lecturers from BAI, as well as to the AITI management. During his lecture, the Board Member II conveyed the importance of implementing the audit quality assurance to promote efficiency, accountability, effectiveness and transparency of public administration conducive to achieve the national development goals and priorities, specifically through the implementation of BPK's Line of Defense.

Apart from the training agenda, the BPK Board Member II had the opportunity to attend the bilateral discussion with the President of AITI in order to discuss the future cooperation plan between the two SAIs, especially in the field of human resources’ capacity building developed through training programs.
