The Prime Minister of the Lao PDR Asked the BPK to Strengthen the Audit Capacity of the State Audit Organization (SAO) of the Lao PDR
The Chairman of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK), Dr. Harry Azhar Azis, fulfilled the invitation from Dr. Viengthong Siphandone, the President of the SAO of the Lao PDR.
In his three-day visit, from August 18 to 20, 2015 in Vientiane, the Chairman and his delegates were welcomed by the Prime Minister of the Lao PDR, Mr. Thongsing Thammavong in the Prime Minister’s office. The Prime Minister asked the BPK to help strengthen the audit capacity of the SAO of the Lao PDR in the forms of audit trainings for auditors and internships in the BPK to learn audit methodology and techniques.
To realize this request, the Chairman and the President of the SAO of the Lao PDR agreed to actualize a cooperation to be signed in the ASEANSAI Summit in November 2015.
During the visit, the BPK’s delegates also held a Bilateral Seminar on the BPK’s experiences in conducting procurement audits. Hendar Ristriawan as the Secretary General of the BPK and Yudi Ramdan, the Head of Public Relations and International Cooperation Bureau, narrated BPK’s experiences in that field.
