Winners of Blog Writing Competition "BPK Kawal Harta Negara"

The Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) held a blog-writing competition with the topic of Safeguarding State Assets. The competition started on 27 November 2017 and closed on 12 February 2018, with a total of 315 participants.

"The blog-writing competition is intended to motivate and invite all parties to raise awareness about the nation and the country in line with our field of competence," said Chairman of BPK, Moermahadi Soerja Djanegara, in his speech at Kumpul Blogger Tanah Air event that raised the theme of "Bloggers Safeguarding the State Assets " on Thursday, (15/3/2018) in the Auditorium of BPK Head Office.

There are three levels of selection process, i.e. administrative selection process, internal jury, and external jury. The internal jury would assess consistency with the theme, the writer’s understanding about BPK, and data validity. As many as 241 participants with 250 links to their blog articles passed this stage.

The jury consists of Hery Trianto (Editor in Chief of Bisnis Indonesia), Zulfiani Lubis (Editor in Chief of IDN Times), Roso Daras (senior journalist), Aulia Halimatussadiah (Blogger & Chief Content of Zetta Media), and Gunarwanto (Head of BPK R & D Directorate). The jury assesses the depth of the message and the impact of the writing to the public, as well as the presentation i.e. language styles, structures, and graphic presentation used in the writing. At this stage, the top 20 nominees were selected, of which three main prize winners and three jury’s favorites will be selected.

Zulfiani Lubis, representing the jury, said that the blog articles submitted to the competition generally reflect that the bloggers have seriously prepared their work and this was reflected in the quality of the writings. The jury, he said, was also serious in their assessment to ensure that all qualified writings were read properly rather than perfunctorily.

"Some members of the jury even had to isolate themselves in a hotel room to make sure that all the writings are read thoroughly. This is to ensure accountability, in line with BPK’s culture, "he asserted.

According to Zulfiani, there are several considerations taken by the jury in determining the winners:

  • First, the topics are relevant and the references are valid. The data presented should be valid and refer to BPK’s data.
  • Second, creativity. The jury would give high score on creativity in the writing such as in the selection of title and in how the article is presented so that the writing can be accepted by wider audience.
  • Third, the efforts to enrich the writings. Zulfiani gave example that there are participants who visited BPK Museum to collect more information about BPK’s role and journey in safeguarding state asset.

The Jury has decided that the winners are as follows:

First prize winner: Alexander Arie Sanata Darma
Second prize winner: Yesi Hendriani Supartoyo
Third prize winner: Lalu Alfian Rifa’i
First Favorite Winner: Lalu Alfian Rifa’i
Second Favorite Winner: Bayu Satria Utama
Third Favorite Winner: Saiful Rijal Yunus

The organizing committee would like to congratulate all winners and extend our appreciation to all bloggers who have participated in this blog-writing competition.
