Jakarta, Tuesday (29 June 2021) - The Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) gave unqualified opinion to 12 ministry and agencies audited by the BPK’s Directorat General Audit I. Those 12 ministry and agencies include Coordinating Legal, Political and Security Affairs Ministry, National Resilience Council (Wantannas), National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas), National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT), Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla), National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM), National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), National Narcotics Agency (BNN), Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) and National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas).

Previously, the financial audits conducted in 2020 towards the presentation of financial statements Fiscal Year 2019 had resulted in 3 agencies, namely Bakamla, BSSN and General Elections Commission (KPU), that had not yet been successful in gaining unqualified opinion.

"To encourage their improvements in financial governance and reporting, in 2020, the BPK worked side by side with the Development and Finance Comptroller (BPKP) that their opinions eventually increased into the unqualified opinion," Board Member Hendra Susanto said when handing Audit Reports today to the 12 ministry and agencies whose audits are under his supervision.

The significant problems found by the BPK’s Directorat General Audit I include inadequacy in administering and securing inventories, intangible assets, state assets, trial evidences, looted goods and cash management. Related to the non-compliances, there were problems in cash management at the disbursement treasurer, realization of revenues and expenditures, and realization of goods and capital expenditures.

Nevertheless, even before the BPK handed the Audit Reports to the auditees, the audit recommendations have been followed up by some.

"BPK appreciates several working units for having followed up audit findings when our audits were still ongoing," Board Member said, hoping that the ministry and agencies would continue working hard to maintain the unqualified opinion to also be achieved in the following year.
