Jakarta, Friday (13 August 2021) - The Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) provides qualified opinion on financial statements of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Fiscal Year 2020. BPK Board Member IV Isma Yatun and delivers the audit report to Minister Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, today.

In conducting the audit, BPK fully refers to the State Financial Audit Standards and the applicable laws and regulations. The BPK found problems related to weaknesses in the internal control system and compliance with laws and regulations.

Those problems include the recording and reporting of non-tax revenues related with the licensing policy of the export of clear lobster seed commodity in 2020, which was issued before the imposing rules of non-tax revenues on the commodity, resulting in the loss of potential state revenues.

Other problems are the weakness of the internal control system at the Public Service Agency for Marine and Fisheries Capital Management (BLU LPMUKP) resulting in cash management and revenues and expenditures problems related with accountability evidences, and the non-tax revenues of fishery port services that cannot be accounted for its reliability as only recorded based on one-year estimation.

BPK expects the active role of the Inspectorate General of the Ministry to coordinate the follow up of the problems while utilizing the follow up monitoring information system (SIPTL).

"We remind Secretary General and Inspector General of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries to take maximum efforts to follow up BPK's recommendations, in order to optimize the benefit of the audit report in improving the state financial management," Board Member said.
