BPK Hands Audit Results Concluded in The IHPS II 2019 to The President

JAKARTA, BPK Public Relations – The Summary of Audit Reports of the Second Semester of 2019 (IHPS II 2019) contained a total of 488 audit reports consisting of 71 reports on the Central Government, 397 reports on Regional Governments, Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) and Regional Services Agencies (BLUD), and 20 reports on State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and other agencies. This was conveyed by the Chairman of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK), Agung Firman Sampurna, when handing the IHPS II 2019 to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, at the State Palace in Jakarta on Thursday.

Based on types of audits, the IHPS II 2019 consisted of a financial audit report (1%), 267 performance audit reports (54%), and 220 special-purposed audit reports (45%). The BPK Chairman mentioned there were 4,094 findings containing 5,480 problems revealed in the IHPS II 2019. Those problems included 1,725 (31%) problems of non-compliance with Laws and regulations, with 1,270 (74%) problems worth Rp6,25 trillion resulting in state losses, potential losses and lack of revenues.

"During the audits, audit entities had followed up those problems by returning assets and/or depositing money to the state/regional treasury accumulated up to Rp449.45 billion (7%) in total,” the Chairman said as accompanied by BPK Board Member I, Hendra Susanto, Board Member III, Achsanul Qosasi, and Board Member IV, Isma Yatun.

Regarding the results of performance audits, the Chairman revealed there were still rooms for improvements as the effectiveness of programs’ implementation could thrive if not corrected. On the other hand, the results of special-purposed audits concluded 175 (80%) out of 220 audit objects that had been conducting programs/activities according to the criteria with some exceptions.

In addition, the IHPS II 2019 also contained the results of audit recommendations monitoring for the period of 2005 to 2019. As also mentioned by the Chairman, the monitoring had determined state/regional losses amounted up to Rp3.20 trillion in total. "

According to the monitoring of audit recommendation within the period of 2005-2019, the biggest value of losses occurred in regional governments, which was amounting up to Rp2.44 trillion or 76% of the total value of state/regional losses," he explained.

Beside handed over to the President, the IHPS II 2019 had previously been submitted to the House of Representatives and the Regional Representative Council on May 5 and 12, 2020. The handover to the President was also attended by Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani Indrawati, and Minister of State Secretary, Pratikno.

Following up the report handed by the BPK, the government would be committed to transparency and accountability. The President would therefore command all line Ministries and Agencies to resolve issues raised by the BPK.
