BPK’s Covid-19 Rapid Tests Show Negative Results

JAKARTA, BPK Public Relations – As many as 17 out of 859 staffs of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) have tested positive for the COVID-19 after a thousand of rapid tests were carried out in the Head Office of BPK on Thursday (18/06/2020). Those 17 staffs were to undergo further screening by Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests using swabs to confirm the initial results. The PCR shows negative results for the COVID-19.

This was conveyed by BPK Chairman, Agung Firman Sampurna on pers conference held both actual in the Head Office of BPK and virtual on Friday (19/06/2020). “BPK has enforced strict health protocols so that BPK never becomes cluster of COVID-19 transmission,” BPK Chairman emphasized.

BPK Chairman stated that one of BPK’s working unit, Directorate General of Audit I in cooperation with National Intelligence Agency (BIN) carried out Rapid Test, which was initially targeted for 200 staffs of the Directorate General of Audit I. Since BIN took an initiative to bring 1,000 Rapid Test Kits and as to take advantage of the considerable amount of kits, the test then was not only intended for staffs of the Directorate General of Audit I but also for all staffs of the Head Office who voluntarily wanted to take the test. Given such opportunity raised high enthusiasm, the participants increased from 200 to 858 people.

“This Rapid Test has confirmed the effectiveness of health protocols conducted by BPK. BPK has enforced a very strict health protocols as an integrated part of its governance. This also supports President’s policy which has established a state of health emergencies,” he said.

Furthermore, BPK Chairman also explained that BPK has implemented Work From Home (WFH) to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within BPK. Currently BPK has started to implement working procedures with new normal order.

“BPK is a public institution which firstly implemented WFH procedure. As a result, BPK has successfully controlled the COVID-19 transmission in its working environment. BPK is now ready and has started working procedure with new normal order,” he added.

The conference pers was attended by BPK Board Member I Hendra Susanto, Secretary General Bahtiar Arif dan Director of Public Relations and International Cooperation Selvia Vivi Devianti as well as journalists from national media both printed or electronic.

Previously, BPK had performed COVID-19 Rapid Test for staffs in the Head Office of BPK in Jakarta on Thursday (18/06/2020). The test which was participated by 858 staffs was carried out with the support of BIN.

BPK Board Member I, Hendra Susanto stated that the test was a preventive measure to cut the spread of COVID-19 within BPK. By carrying out this test, it was expected that all staffs who return to office routine could work comfortably.

“The Rapid Test is aimed at knowing whether we are in good health or not. For those who are healthy, they should maintain their health and for those whose results show reactive, they are to undergo further screening test using swabs,” said BPK Board Member I who on that occasion was accompanied by the Secretary General, Bahtiar Arif and Director General of Audit I, Novy G.A. Pelenkahu.
