MOU Between BPK and LAN on Synergy And Collaboration

JAKARTA, BPK Public Relations – To enhance synergy and coordination of state financial audit and accountability as well as to develop organizational capacity and state official resources, Chairman of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK), Agung Firman Sampurna, and Chairman of the State Administration Institute of the Republic of Indonesia (LAN), Adi Suryanto, signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the Head Office of BPK in Jakarta, on Tuesday (15/12/2020).

In his remarks, the Chairman of BPK says synergy and collaboration are a new effective charm for organizational capacity development. Conceptually and factually, it is hard to imagine that the development of organization, adapting to the continuous changing environment, occurs without systematic collaborations with other organizations to keep sharing and giving the society benefits.

The sectoral ego, not only within the organization but also among the organizations, is a barrier complicating and hindering the development of organization that needs to break and replace with new adaptable forms, to maintain, develop, and improve sustainability of the organization.

Under the same initiative of breaking the sectoral ego, the cooperation and collaboration between the BPK and the LAN is becoming relevant and urgent. The BPK is a state institution having constitutional authority to audit the state financial management and accountability, while the LAN is a state institution having authority to conduct researches, trainings, and education for state officials.

Conceptually, the cooperation between the BPK and the LAN is an effort to build synergy and collaboration to strengthen transparency and accountability as well as the state official resources development. The synergy and collaboration needs to be carried out and implemented in a cooperation.

The scope of MoU includes exchange of data and/or information, policy and innovation review, training and education, and other necessary cooperation.

In addition, the Chairman of BPK reminds that it is inadequate to only carry out the accountability at the administrative levels as the procedural tasks because the accountability should have been becoming a value and culture in the society in which the BPK has been promoting it in a tagline Accountability for All since the end of 2019. The tagline is intended as a collective action aims to integrate the accountability into not only the elements of life but also the daily activities as the society of the nation.

Currently, the BPK is an institution that continuously improving both its capacity and its capability. Not only is the BPK establishing and enhancing its position as a free, independent, and professional institution, but also the BPK is intensely transforming itself into an audit institution that is up-to-date, modern, firm, and agile responding dynamically to its continuous changing external environment.

"When organizing the leadership training, the LAN is suggested to include, in the training materials, as well as to raise awareness for accountability of the state financial management. For this reason, the participants of the leadership training are expected not only will they have comprehensive understanding, but they may also establish and build a transparent and accountable state financial management in particular," the Chairman said.

The MoU signing was witnessed and attended by the Board Member III of BPK, Achsanul Qosasi, and the high-level officials both in the BPK and in the LAN.
