Unqualified Opinion Given as Problems Are Immaterial

JAKARTA, BPK Public Relations - The Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) gave an unqualified opinion on financial statements to the Ministry of Industry Fiscal Year 2019. Board Member Pius Lustrilanang said the opinion was given because the problems found did not have a material impact on the presentation of the financial statements.

The Board Member II stated that problems found during the audit process had been followed up by the ministry with a correction journal. It was revealed when he directly handed the audit report to Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita at the ministry building on Tuesday.

Board Member added that the disclosure of the notes to financial statements had been improved. Nevertheless, the BPK still found four problems of the internal control system and 12 problems of compliances with laws and regulations.

"However, those problems do not have a material impact on the fair presentation of the ministry’s financial statements", he said.

On the same day, Board Member also handed the audit report on financial statements of the Government Goods/Services Procurement Policy Agency (LKPP) Fiscal Year 2019 directly to the Head, Roni Dwi Susanto. The event took place at the LKPP Head Office in Jakarta.

Board Member herewith revealed that the BPK gave an unqualified opinion to the agency while appreciating the Head and his staff for their efforts in maintaining the quality of the state financial management. He further urged the ministry and the agency to improve the completion of BPK's recommendations that the audit results could optimally promote accountability and transparency of the state financial management.

Director General of Audit II, Laode Nusriadi, BPK auditors, and officials of the Ministry of Industry and the LKPP attended the respective event.
