Vice Chairman of BPK Inaugurates New Assessment Center

Jakarta, BPK Public Relations – Vice Chairman of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK), Agus Joko Pramono officially inaugurated a new assessment center located in BPK Regional Office of Special Capital Region of Jakarta on Tuesday (6/5). The Chairman hit bedug, a kind of traditional drum, to mark the inauguration along with Secretary General of BPK, Bahtiar Arif, and Head of National Civil Service Agency (BKN), Bima Haria Wibisana.

In his remarks, Vice Chairman says as a big significant institution, BPK needs to have a strong commitment to implement merit system substantially.

"As a big significant institution, BPK keeps committed to not only improve itself, but also upgrade human capital model in it," Vice Chairman said.

Vice Chairman continues that a commitment to implement merit system is a result of organizational maturity evolution started in 2019. The organizational maturity evolution of BPK uses Human Resource Management (HRM) Plan, considered as a blue print for competence based human resources management plan.

HRM Plan provides a framework to carry out holistic human resources functions, including planning, job analysis, recruitment, performance management, carrier management and development, as well as other relevant functions.

The management and development of human capital in BPK have been increasingly becoming a serious focus in BPK long-term plan.

"As mentioned in BPK Strategic Plan of 2020-2024, one of the missions is implementing organizational management transparently and sustainably that other institutions may look up at BPK as their role model," Vice Chairman emphasized.

To achieve the mission, BPK needs human capital that not only having high quality but also relevant capability to support business processes in BPK. Having these capacities, BPK may advance its organizational performance on its best while keep upholding its core values and code of ethics.

In the inauguration, Vice Chairman reveals a success story of merit system implementation that an assessment center has been playing significant roles. Up to now, the assessment center methodology is still becoming the first choice for assessment and competence mapping.

The assessment center provides a result used to consider placement, job selection for different position in either same institution or different institutions, as well as promotion of employees. In addition, following up for capacity development by giving feedback, administering coaching, and organizing training to fill gap of required competence among the employees are equally important to provide.

In more than a decade, BPK has been experiencing to implement assessment center internally. Having recent development, BPK is now moving into next phase, developing the assessment center as well as building synergy and seeking for collaboration to broad the assessment center nationally.

Soon, the assessment center in BPK will be able provide any needs for assessment coming from not only internally, but also externally. The assessment center will also become a learning place for all ministries and institutions that are developing their own assessment center, be part of synergy building between BPK and these ministries or institutions.

"BPK is in support to develop its assessment center not only to fulfil internal needs, but also to provide any external needs. Having such development is part of a synergy that BPK has been trying to build with other institutions," Vice Chairman ended his remarks.

At the same occasion, after the inauguration of assessment center, BPK received a prestigious award namely BKN Award of 2020 for its achievement in the best performance category. Head of National Civil Service Agency (BKN) handed the award in person to Vice Chairman of BPK.

Among attendees of the inauguration were Chief Secretary of BPK, Imas Sukmariah, Director of Human Capital Management of PT. Telkom Indonesia, Afriwandi, Senior General Manager of ACI Telkom, Justi Ariesthiawati, Head of HR Assessor Association, Dessi Mutia, Director General of BPK Training Institute, Ida Sundari, Inspector General of BPK, I Nyoman Wara, as well as high-level officials in BPK.
