The Submission of the Audit Report on the Government’s Readiness in Holding Simultaneous Governors’ Election
Jakarta, Monday (July 13, 2015) – the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) handed the audit report on the readiness in the hold of the simultaneous Governors’ election to the House of Representatives on Monday, July 13, 2015 at the Nusantara Building DPR RI, Jakarta.
The audit report concluded that “the available budget cannot be assured capable of supporting the hold of the simultaneous Governors’ election in 2015” and “the available human resources including institutional aspects or infrastructure cannot be assured capable of supporting the hold of the simultaneous Governors’ election in 2015”
The audit was conducted based on the request of the House of Representatives, according with the letter of the House’s Speaker Number PW/0706/DPR/RI/V/2015 dated May 21, 2015. The audit aimed at evaluating the readiness of the hold of the simultaneous Governors’ election, in accordance with the Law 8 Year 2015. The audit scope includes the readiness of the provision of the budget, human resources, and other aspects of readiness in the General Election Commission, the Election Supervisory Agency, the Provincial/District General Election Commission, regional governments of 269 provinces/districts, as well as in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Constitutional Court and other related agencies.
