BPK and NAA of Cambodia Strengthen Cooperation In High-Level Bilateral Meeting

PHNOM PENH, BPK Public Relations – Chairperson of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK), Isma Yatun, had a high-level bilateral meeting with Auditor General of National Audit Authority of the Kingdom of Cambodia (NAA), Som Kim Suor, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on Monday (8/5). The high-level meeting is a part of implementation of bilateral cooperation that has been established between two Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs).

Along with Chairperson, representatives of BPK at the meeting were Director of Board Members Secretariat, Novie Irawati Herni Purnama, Director of Audit Evaluation and Reporting, Yuan Candra Djaisin, and Manager of Bilateral Cooperation, Tyas Utami Dibyantari.

Meanwhile, representatives of NAA attended the meeting with their Auditor General were Deputy Auditor General, Ouk Saravudh, Deputy Secretary General, Samrit Sat, and some other high-level officials.

In her remarks, Chairperson of BPK highly appreciates a good bilateral cooperation that has been established between the two Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) since 2010. Many programs have been organized as part of implementation of bilateral cooperation, for an instance is bilateral training and seminar. The training and seminar take prominent topics of interest between the two SAIs, such as investigative audit, performance audit, training management, audit of environment related issues, and other updated topics. In addition, Chairperson of BPK also appreciates successful organization of 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) that is hosted by Cambodia this year.

"In this occasion, allow me to convey my highest appreciation of bilateral cooperation that has been established between National Audit Authority of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia," Chairperson of BPK said.

At the meeting, Auditor General of NAA informs that currently, Cambodia is experiencing such a good economic growth, although, shortly before it, the country has just recovered from a low economic condition because of COVID-19 pandemic. At that time, COVID-19 pandemic hit Cambodia and other countries. This year, Cambodia is honoured to be appointed as host of 2023 SEA Games.

Auditor General of NAA also appreciates BPK highly. BPK has been supporting and assisting NAA in capacity development programs for audits, such as training and knowledge sharing. She hopes that in the future, BPK will share knowledge and experience about follow up to audit recommendations, training management, and information technology-based audits.

Following the meeting was a knowledge sharing session. BPK shared knowledge and experience about the follow up to audit recommendation as well as preparation for guidance on the follow up to audit recommendation. Representing BPK at the knowledge sharing session as a speaker was Director of Audit Evaluation and Reporting, Yuan Candra Djaisin.
