Strengthen and Enhance Audit Capacity, Chair of BPK Welcomes Delegates of SAI Saudi Arabia

JAKARTA, BPK Public Relations – Chair of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) Isma Yatun welcomed the arrival of a delegation from the General Court of Audit (GCA) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) Saudi Arabia to strengthen the capacity of both institutions and deepen understanding of financial audit.

"Thank you for the trust of the GCA of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for choosing BPK as a discussion partner in sharing experiences and knowledge to deepen audit capacity, especially in the topics discussed in this meeting," said Chair of BPK during a courtesy meeting at BPK head office in Jakarta on Monday (22/1).

During the meeting, which took place in the Tri Dharma Arthasantosha room, Chair of BPK expressed gratitude to SAI Saudi Arabia for their support in improving audit capacity and hoped that this meeting would strengthen bilateral relations between BPK and SAI Saudi Arabia.

Furthermore, Chair of BPK also expressed her appreciation to the delegates of SAI Saudi Arabia, led by Vice President for Performance Audit GCA Abdullah Al Haigi, for their support for BPK's candidacy to host the 2028 Congress of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).

This meeting is the beginning of a two-day series of bilateral visits. The visit was organized at the request of SAI Saudi Arabia in order for BPK to share knowledge and experience in conducting audits, particularly in the areas of planning, evaluation, and analysis of audit policies, key performance indicators, risk management, performance audit methodologies and follow-up monitoring, audits of public welfare and public services, and 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Vice President for Performance Audit of GCAAbdullah Al Haigisaid that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Indonesia are both committed to adopting the principles of transparency, accountability, and effective governance.

The visit of the delegates of SAI Saudi Arabia underlines the commitment and dedication to strengthen the capacity of both institutions and deepen the understanding of best practices in public financial oversight.

The meeting concluded with BPK and the SAI of Saudi Arabia reaffirming their commitment to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of public sector auditing, including exploring opportunities for cooperation in training and audit capacity building.
