Vice Chairman Of BPK, As Vice-Chair of THE United Nations Independent Audit Advisory Committee (UN IAAC), Attends The 57th Session of the IAAC
JAKARTA, BPK Public Relations – Vice Chairman of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) Agus Joko Pramono, serving as Vice Chair of the United Nations Independent Audit Advisory Committee (UN IAAC), virtually attended the 57th Session of the IAAC on 16-18 February 2022.
The meeting was presided over by the Chair Janet St. Laurent (United States). All other members of the Committee, namely Dorothy A. Bradley (Belize), Anton V. Kosyanenko (Russian Federation), Imran Vanker (South Africa), and UN IAAC Executive Secretary Moses Bamuwamye were in attendance.
The agenda for the meeting discussed the latest development on the UN Peace Keeping report. In addition, it was also scheduled a meeting with Chief Information Technology Office (CITO), Bernando Mariano Jr. to discuss cybersecurity risk in the context of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) network of High-Level Committee on Management (HLCM).
The next agenda was Committee Meeting with Controller Chandramouli Ramanathan discussing support account budget of Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS); preliminary overview of the proposed programme budget for 2023; Decision of the UN General Assembly during the 76th Sessions; and other issues that require the Committee’s attention, including an update of the financial situation.
On the next agenda, the Committee had a meeting with the Under Secretary General OIOS, Fatoumata Ndiaye to address several issues, including the final budget proposal under the support account for peace keeping operations for the period 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023 and capacity gap analysis for divisions under OIOS, the work plan of OIOS for 2022-2023 at Investigation Audit Division (IAD), and the significant findings from the cybersecurity audits and review that OIOS conducted in 2021.
The agenda was then continued with a meeting with Under Secretary Geenral of Department of Operational Support (USG DOS) Atul Khare to discuss the status of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) especially in revised risk register and implementation of oversight recommendations focused on DOS, and DOS’ perspective on involvement and development of the UN Statement on Internal Control.
During the three-days meeting, Vice Chairman of BPK, as Vice Chair of IAAC, gave significant comments and viewpoints on the discussed agendas. These included viewpoint on improving the management of UN Peace Keeping Operation. Vice Chairman of BPK also responded to the self-assessment carried out by the UN IAAC by providing input to improve the questionnaire in the UN IAAC self-assessment, especially in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic and the increasing issue of cybercrime.
