BPK Chairperson Conducts High-Level Meeting with BAI Korea to Strengthen Cooperation

SEOUL, BPK Public Relations – BPK Chairperson Isma Yatun meets Chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection of Korea (BAI Korea) Jaehae CHOE at the BAI Korea Office in Seoul on Friday. The high-level meeting is the implementation of the bilateral cooperation between the two institutions.

In order to strengthen the bilateral cooperation, the meeting discusses the action plan ahead, including the plan to exchange respective auditors in a secondment program.

The secondment topics offered for BPK’s auditors include audit of international organizations, research methodology and audit cases at the BAI Research Institute, international audit capacity development training at the Audit and Inspection Training Institute (AITI), BARON training (BAI Audit Data Analysis Systems), as well as other information technology methodologies.

In the meeting, the BPK Chairperson conveys BPK's experiences when becomes the external auditor of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and International Maritime Organization (IMO). BPK welcomes the BAI Korea's request to shre these in the secondment program in BPK.

Furthermore, in response to the initiative to form MIKTA SAI – a consultative SAI forum among five MIKTA member countries: Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea, Turkey, and Australia, of which Indonesia is now the Chair of MIKTA in 2023 – BPK also welcomes the BAI Korea's proposal to carry out a MIKTA SAI meeting on the sidelines of the SAI20 Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) to be conducted in March 2023 in Goa, India.

The meeting between BPK Chairperson and BAI Korea Chairman ends with a visit to the AITI office where a discussion on possible education and training collaborations takes place
