BPK Has Saved State Funds And Assets Through Regional Government And Regional-Owned Enterprise Audit

JAKARTA, BPK Public Relations - Vice Chair of the Audit Board of the Republic Indonesia (BPK) Hendra Susanto handed Summary of Audit Results of the First Semester of 2023 to Vice Speaker of Regional House Representatives (DPD) Nono Sampono at the DPD Plenary Session at the Nusantara III Building, Jakarta on Tuesday (5/12).

In his remarks, Vice Chair of BPK stated that BPK has saved state funds and assets through asset handover and deposit to state and regional treasury based on audit results of regional governments (Pemda) and Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) from 2005 to Semester I 2023 amounting to Rp27,37 trillion.

“The encouragement from chairs and members of DPD to regional heads is crucial to increase the commitment from regional heads in accelerating the completion of follow-up to BPK recommendations as a joint effort to strengthen regional government accountability," said Vice Chair of BPK.

Furthermore, Vice Chair of BPK explained that the achievement of Unqualified Opinion on the Financial Statements of Provincial and District Government 2022 has exceeded the 2020-2024 National Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMN) targets by 93% and 82% respectively, while the Financial Statements of City Government is below the target of 93%.“In 2022, there was an increase in BPK’s opinion in 15 district governments (Pemkab) from Qualified Opinion to Unqualified Opinion. We appreciate the work of these 15 district governments in raising the audit opinion on the Financial Statements of Regional Governments,” said Vice Chair of BPK.

Vice Chair of BPK also expressed his appreciation, stating that in 2023, all regional governments were able to complete Financial Statements in a timely manner. Nevertheless, compared to the previous year, the audit reports on Financial Statements of Regional Government (LKPD) fiscal year 2022 showed a decrease in the BPK's opinion compared to the previous year, namely from Unqualified Opinion to Qualified Opinion in 2 provincial governments, 12 district governments and 4 city governments, and from Unqualified Opinion to Disclaimer in 1 district government.

"However, in the last five years, or from 2018 to 2022, overall LKPD opinion has increased," explained the Vice Chair of the BPK.

Board Member VII of BPK Slamet Edy Purnomo, Acting Secretary General of BPK BPK I Nyoman Wara, Director General of Audit VI Laode Nusriadi, Director General of Planning, Evaluation, and Policy B. Dwita Pradana, Director General of Legal Affairs Akhmad Anang Hernady, and high-level officials BPK and DPD attended this meeting.
