SAI20 Awarded For Its Success In Supporting G20 Indonesia Presidency
JAKARTA, BPK Public Relations - The Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) receives an award at the G20 Indonesia Presidency Awarding Ceremony held in Jakarta, Tuesday. Representing BPK, Secretary General Bahtiar Arif receives the award from the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs handed over by the Minister of Finance. The award is to acknowledge BPK as the initiator and Chair of the SAI20 in relation to the G20 Indonesia Presidency.
Taking the advantage of the G20 Indonesia presidency in 2022, BPK initiates the formation of the SAI20 as a new engagement group of the G20 as an effort to participate in promoting the active role of SAIs of the G20 member countries in encouraging transparency and accountability in the G20 community. During the BPK's chairmanship, the SAI20 had conducted technical meetings and senior official meetings, seminars and the summit in August 2022.
The SAI20 has succeeded in adopting the Rules of Procedures as its internal governance arrangements and the Communiqué, a joint commitment from the SAIs’ Chairs present at the Summit on issues of common issues. The SAI20 is a new engagement group recognized and included in the G20 Bali Leaders' Declaration.
By the ending of the G20 Indonesia Presidency to be handed over to India for the upcoming period, the chairmanship of the SAI20 will also be handed over to SAI India for 2023. BPK's success as initiator and Chair of SAI20 in 2022 becomes the starting point for the SAIs’ role in the G20 community, strengthening position and role of the audit institution in overseeing transparency and accountability in the public sector. It is also a successful form of BPK’s diplomacy in the global audit institution community.
