BPK Becomes the Member of the External Auditor Panel of the United Nations

With its role as the External Auditor of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) becomes the member of the External Auditor Panel of the United Nations. The Panel is the forum for State Audit Institutions which are in charge of the External Auditor of United Nations' Agencies. The aim is to give inputs to the Secretariat General of the United Nations in improving the financial management in the UN Community.

The BPK attended the panel meeting from November 16 to 22, 2016 at the UN Headquarter in New York. The Delegates were headed by the Chairman of the BPK, Harry Azhar Azis. The BPK, together with other Members, formulated recommendations for the UN namely the application of the audit standard, the new accounting standard (IPSAS), the handle of fraud in implementing partners, the policy of single audit, and the harmonization of the formulation of the financial statements.

The BPK's participation in the Panel is useful for the increase of its competency and capacity as an audit institution as well as for the recognition of its role in improving the global financial management.
