BPK Conducts Audit of the Financial Statements of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and the Management of Pre-Employment Card Program for Fiscal Year 2024

JAKARTA, BPK Public Relations – The Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) held an entry meeting to begin the audit of the financial statements of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and Other Expenditure Budget Section (BA 999.08) related to the Management of the Pre-Employment Card Program (MPPKP) for fiscal year 2024. The meeting took place at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs' office on Tuesday (18/3), and was attended by BPK Board Member II, Daniel Lumban Tobing, and the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto.

In his remarks, Board Member II emphasized that the financial audit is part of BPK's responsibilities to promote accountable state financial governance. The audit aims to provide an opinion on the fairness of the financial statements prepared by the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and the MPPKP for fiscal year 2024.

BPK considers four key aspects in forming its opinion: compliance with Government Accounting Standards (SAP), adequacy of financial information disclosure, adherence to laws and regulations, and the effectiveness of the Internal Control System (SPI).

BPK highlighted the importance of synergy between the audit team and the staff of both the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and the MPPKP to ensure a smooth audit process. Timely fulfilment of data and information requests is a crucial to the audit’s efficacy.

BPK also expressed its appreciation for the Ministry’s continuous cooperation and efforts taken to follow up on previous audit recommendations. Full support from all levels of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and the MPPKP is essential to ensure the audit runs optimally.

"We hope this audit will bring significant benefits in improving the quality of financial management and accountability to achieve the national goals as mandated by the constitution," concluded Board Member II of BPK.

The event was also attended by the Director General of State Finance Audit II at BPK, Nelson Ambarita; Director of Audit II.D, Harry Purwaka; and high-level officials of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs.
