BPK Holds a Hearing Prior To The Admission of Civil Servants with Disabilities Year 2021
JAKARTA, BPK Public Relations - The Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) held a hearing prior to the admission of civil servants with disabilities year 2021. Secretary General Bahtiar Arif officially opened the event on Friday. The hearing aims at acquiring inputs from participants, especially those from disabled civil servants working in the BPK.
Secretary General says that the government has issued a policy to allocate special formations for civil servants with disabilities for as much as 2%. It means that in 2021, BPK will allocate as many as 27 disabled civil servant candidates out of the total formations available.
"BPK has obtained quite a number of formations in 2021, 1,320 for auditors and other positions, auditors are the most numbers. The government's policy is allocating 2% formations for disabilities, meaning that for 2021 there will be 27 people," he said.
He further mentions that there will be 1,257 auditors, 35 computer administrators, and 28 legal information and data managers. In general, the admission process is the same as in previous years that include administrative, basic competency, and field competency selection.
“With formations for disabilities and/or those colleagues with disabilities working in the BPK, we gather virtually today to get inputs from all of you regarding the recruitment this year, especially the opening of these special formations, and to gain perspectives on how to work at the BPK," he said.
According to him, with the increasingly diverse backgrounds of BPK employees, including colleagues with disabilities, it shows the widespread of employees working at the BPK, the diversity and the inclusiveness, followed by improvements needed in the recruitment plan.
On the same occasion, Sunarti, an employee with hearing impairment at the BPK Regional Office in Lampung reveals that she and other disabled colleagues do not receive any discrimination from the beginning to the end of the selection process. She has previously experienced working in a private sector from 2010 to 2019, and her last position was as a supervisor. People with disabilities are expected to be able to work with their abilities and do not expect mercy from others. On the other hand, they are the ones who have to adapt with the working environment and make sure that their disabilities will not interfere their works.
“As we all know that auditors must be able to do everything and I should not expect mercy from others. Even though I have limitations, I must have the ability,” Sunarti said.
The hearing was attended by Director of Human Resources Bureau Dadang Ahmad Rifai, Director of Public Relations and International Cooperation Bureau Selvia Vivi Devianti, Head of BPK Regional Office in West Sumatera Yusnadewi, Head of BPK Regional Office in North Sulawesi Karyadi, and officials of BPK Head Office and Regional Offices.
