BPK Vice Chairman Shares Experiences And Capacity Development Plan Of Auditing SDGs on IDI-ASEANSAI Webinar

JAKARTA, BPK Public Relations – BPK Vice Chairman Agus Joko Pramono became one of panelists of the Joint Webinar on Strengthening SAI Audits of SDGs Implementation organized by ASEANSAI and INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) on Wednesday.

On the occasion, Vice Chairman explained BPK's experiences in auditing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), both on preparedness and implementation stages. BPK had contributed in sharing its experiences in various international meetings such as IDI, United Nations High-Level Political Forum (UN HLPF), United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP) and other INTOSAI meetings.

Vice Chairman also conveyed the BPK capacity building plan to strengthen the implementation of the SDGs audit, including participating in the IDI ASOSAI Cooperative Audit on 3D, increasing international cooperation in various SDGs-related international communities, and encouraging SDGs audit training for BPK and other SAIs.

"It is hoped that with these steps, efforts to enhance BPK’s SDGs implementation audit will well proceed and have an impact toward the Indonesian government. In the end, it will open opportunities for the BPK to further contribute to the international community and to be an SAI referred to in conducting SDGs audit," Vice Chairman said.

The webinar was officially opened by Deputy Auditor General of Malaysia, Khalid Khan Abdullah Khan in his position as the Chairman of the ASEANSAI KSC. Khalid Khan Abdullah Khan said in his remark that the Webinar was the first collaborative activity between IDI and ASEANSAI held virtually. Deputy Director General of IDI Archana Shirsat, in addition, mentioned other cooperation between ASEANSAI and IDI such as the Cooperative Audit on Financial Audit and the ISSAI Needs Assessment Program on Financial Audit.

Attended by approximately 140 participants from ASEANSAI member SAIs, the webinar aimed at increasing the ASEANSAI awareness regarding the IDI SDGs Audit Model (ISAM) and being a forum for sharing experiences and knowledge in auditing SDGs.
