Slamet Edy Purnomo Sworn in as Board Member of BPK
Jakarta, Tuesday (1 August 2023) – Newly appointed Board Member of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK), Slamet Edy Purnomo, took an oath of office in Supreme Court, in Jakarta, today (1/08). Administered by Deputy Chief Justice of Supreme Court, Sunarto, the oath taking is in compliance with article 16 (1) of Law Number 15 of 2006 on the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK). The law states that before assuming their position, Board Members of BPK are obliged to recite an oath of office in accordance with their respective religions.
The official inauguration of Board Members of BPK is in compliance with Presidential Decree Number 60/P of 2023 on Honourable Dismissal and Official Inauguration of Board Member of BPK, Slamet Edy Purnomo.
Prior to the oath taking, a plenary session on 13 June 2023 in Regional Representative Council (DPRD) in Jakarta was organized to declare fit and proper test. Commission XI of the Regional Representative Council (DPRD) decided to agree that elected candidate, Slamet Edy Purnomo, to be Board Member of BPK as he won majority votes. The decision was taken in the plenary session of Commission XI of the Regional Representative Council on 31 May 2023. Slamet Edy Purnomo was a former Chief Executive of Banking Supervision in charge of Banking Sector Supervision Division Concurrently Member of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK).
In accordance with BPK Regulation Number 3 of 2017 on Amendment of BPK Regulation Number 1 of 2015, BPK will hold a meeting to determine duties and functions of Chair, Vice Chair, and Board Members of BPK.
