Synergy Between the Government and BPK in Enhancing BPK's Role on the International Stage

Jakarta, Friday (10 January 2025) - Vice Chair of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK), Budi Prijono met with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sugiono, to strengthen the synergy between BPK and the Government in increasing BPK's role on the international stage. This initiative is in line with the achievement of Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision, particularly in terms of enhancing the Indonesia’s leadership and expanding its influence on regional and international levels. Additionally, increasing BPK’s international role aims to strengthen its capacity and credibility, establishing it as a trusted institution in state financial auditing.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono emphasized that BPK's contributions on the international stage are in line with the President's vision and Golden Indonesia 2045 vision. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to strengthen inter-agency synergy and collaboration within Indonesia to enhance and expand the nation's leadership and influence globally across various sectors. BPK's international role serves as a concrete example of the established synergy and collaboration. Furthermore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to support BPK's active participation in several international organizations, including INTOSAI, ASOSAI, and ASEANSAI, as well as its involvement in auditing and capacity-building initiatives with international institutions.

Vice Chair of BPK, Budi Prijono, expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Government, particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for its continuous support in BPK’s involvement in global supreme audit institutions or International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI), and the ASEAN Supreme Audit Institutions (ASEANSAI), and as the initiator on the establishment of the Supreme Audit Institutions-20 (SAI-20), as one of the G-20 engagement groups.

"The support from the Government is expected to continue for BPK's international role, particularly in preparing BPK’s Chairmanship in INTOSAI in 2028–2031" explained Budi Prijono.

The meeting was also attended by Board Member I of BPK Nyoman Adhi Suryadnyana, Secretary General of BPK, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Director General of Multilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Inspector General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and high-officials of both institutions.
