The Chair of BPK Reveals Number of Audit Findings By Handing The Summary of Audit Reports to The House of Representatives

JAKARTA, BPK Public Relations – The Chair of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) Isma Yatun handed the Summary of Audit Reports (IHPS) of the First Semester I of 2023 to the House of Representatives (DPR) during the Plenary Session of DPR, in Jakarta on Tuesday (5/12).

The chair of BPK explained that the IHPS is a summary of 705 audit reports, consisting of 681 Financial Audit Reports, 2 Performance Reports, and 22 Special Purpose Audit Reports.

"The audit reports stated 9.261 audit findings that include issues of internal control system, non-compliance that can result in losses, potential losses, and revenue deficits, as well as uneconomical, inefficient, and ineffective conducts (3E) with an overall value of Rp18,19 trillion," said the Chair of BPK.

The Chair of BPK added that the two classifications of audit findings with the highest value are potential losses amounting to Rp7,43 trillion and revenue deficits amounting to Rp6,01 trillion. In terms of the audit results, during the audit process, the entity has followed up by depositing money and/or handing over assets amounting to Rp852,82 billion.

The Chair of BPK handed the IHPS in person to the Speaker of DPR Puan Maharani. The plenary session was attended by Board Member II of BPK Daniel Lumban Tobing, Vice Speaker of DPR Rachmat Gobel, Lodewijk Freidrich Paulus, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad and Members of DPR, as well as BPK’s high-level officers.

In addition, the Chair of BPK said that 2023 will be remembered for the achievement of BPK's institutional capacity in the international level. In addition to lead the United Nations Panel of External Auditors for the period 2022-2023 last November, BPK is also appointed as the external auditor at several international organizations.

"These organizations include the Inter-Parliamentary Union for the period 2023-2025 and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) for the period 2024-2029. Furthermore, during the Assembly Session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) on 1 December 2023, BPK is reappointed as the external auditor of the IMO, including its two controlled entities the World Maritime University and the International Maritime Law Institute for the period 2024-2027," she added.

This year, BPK is also designated as the host of the 26th International Congress of Supreme Audit Institutions (INCOSAI) and in 2028 BPK will be the Chair of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) for the period 2028-2031. In addition, BPK is appointed as the secretariat of ASEAN Supreme Audit Institutions (ASEANSAI) for the period 2024-2029.

"These achievements are a manifestation of dedication and synergy with the stakeholders of BPK, especially the DPR," she concluded.
