Vice Chair of BPK Presents Operationalization of Big Data Analytics In The 7th Meeting of INTOSAI WGBD
CAIRO, BPK Public Relations – Vice Chair of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) Hendra Susanto attended the 7th Meeting of International Organization of Supreme Audit Institution Working Group on Big Data (INTOSAI WGBD) held in Cairo, Egypt on 13-15 September 2023.
Attended by more than 65 participants from 26 Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI), the meeting aimed to share knowledge and experience and to identify challenges and opportunities faced in the audit related to big data. The meeting was opened by SAI Egypt as the host and SAI China served as both the Chair and Secretariat of INTOSAI WGBD.
During the meeting, Vice Chair of BPK presented Operationalization of Big Data Analytics. In his presentation, he outlined three strategic plans of BPK in implementing digital transformations which include implementation of digital business process, implementation of information technology governance, and implementation of Big Data Analytics (BIDICS). He said that BIDICS is a big data implementation platform developed by BPK in a built-in-house manner.
BIDICS is a means of disseminating data analysis practices for all employees with components consisting of (1) BIDICS Dashboard, (2) BIDICS Self-Service Analytic, (3) BIDICS Engine, (4) BIDICS Development, and (5) BIDICS Knowledge Management.
At the end of his presentation, Vice Chair of BPK made three recommendations to improve synergy and collaboration among SAIs: (1) designing an international education and training on big data including knowledge on data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI); (2) designing a governance for the implementation of big data that can lead to AI governance design, particularly audit on government institutions; and (3) controlling expert interactions among SAI members in order to accelerate of big data implementation and further development.
Having a topic Application of Big Data in Auditing, the meeting featured 16 presentations. Vice President of SAI Egypt El Faisal Yousef convened an executive meeting with Vice Chair of BPK, Deputy Auditor General of SAI China Wang Benqiang, Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General of SAI India G. Viswanathan, Deputy Auditor General of SAI Vietnam Bui Quoc Dung, Deputy Auditor of SAI Kenya Isaac Kamau Nganga, and Ministro of SAI Brazil Johnathan Pereira de Jesus.
Led by Vice Chair, the delegates consisted of Director of IT Pranoto and Director of Public Relations and International Cooperation Yudi Ramdan Budiman.
