BPK and SAI of India Sign MoU for Strengthening Cooperation
INDIA, BPK Public Relations – The Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) and Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) of India agreed to sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
The signing of MoU by Chairperson of BPK, Isma Yatun, and Comptroller & Auditor General (CAG) of India, Shri Girish Chandra Murmu, was organized in between Supreme Audit Institution 20 (SAI20) Summit on Monday (12/6), in Goa, India.
Representatives of BPK along with Chairperson at the signing of MoU were Secretary General, Bahtiar Arif, Inspector General, I Nyoman Wara, Director of Public Relations and Cooperation, R. Yudi Ramdan Budiman, and Deputy Director of International Cooperation, Kusuma Ayu Rusnasanti. Meanwhile, Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India was accompanied by Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General, Paveen Mehta, Additional Deputy of CAG, Subramanian, and Principal Director of International Relation, Eti Shukla.
In her remarks, Chairperson of BPK says that the signing of MoU is a formal agreement of solid commitment between two Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) to enhance knowledge and experience sharing, particularly in public sector audit including its diverse topics of audit methodology development. The MoU is expected to give significant impact to both institutional and professional capacity development in public sector audits.
Up to this time, BPK and SAI of India have same interest, particularly in environmental auditing, Information Technology (IT) audit, and other areas of audit involving BPK and SAI of India under International Organization of Supreme Audit Institution (INTOSAI) within its organ, Committee on Knowledge Sharing and Knowledge Services (KSC) and its working group, INTOSAI Working Group on Information Technology Audit (WGITA).
The MoU is expected to continue, improve, and strengthen organizational capacity and cooperation between both SAIs, giving contribution to increase financial management of public sector in their respective country, in the regional area, and in the world.
