BPK Appreciates North Sulawesi Provincial Government for Obtaining Unqualified Opinion for the 11th Consecutive Year

MANADO, BPK Public Relations – Vice Chair of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK), Budi Prijono, submitted the Audit Report (LHP) on the Financial Statements of the North Sulawesi Provincial Government for fiscal year 2024 during a Plenary Meeting of the North Sulawesi Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) on Monday (2/6) in Manado. The Financial Statements were received directly by Speaker of DPRD of North Sulawesi, Fransiscus Andi Silangen, and Governor of North Sulawesi, (Ret.) Major General TNI, Yulius Selvanus.

During this event, Vice Chair of BPK expressed appreciation for the commitment of the North Sulawesi Provincial Government, which has obtained an Unqualified Opinion for 11th consecutive year.

"This achievement is certainly inseparable from the effective synergy of all stakeholders and the support of DPRD of North Sulawesi in carrying out its supervisory function," said the Vice Chair of BPK.

In his remarks, Vice Chair of BPK also highlighted several positive achievements in the regional financial management of North Sulawesi Provincial Government in 2024. These include the allocation of mandatory spending that is in accordance with Regional Budget (APBD) preparation guidelines, particularly concerning education and oversight. The North Sulawesi Provincial Government has effectively improved the Human Development Index (HDI) and has made notable progress in controlling inflation in comparison to the previous year.

Vice Chair of BPK conveyed hope that these achievements will inspire further advancement in accountability and transparency within regional financial management, along with an enhancement in the quality of financial statements.

However, several issues identified by BPK that require attention of the North Sulawesi Provincial Government include the findings of deficiencies in work volumes, irregularities in expenditures on the use of Education Unit Operational Assistance (BOSP) funds, and deficiencies in determination of surface water tax and administrative sanctions.

The event was also attended by the Vice Governor of North Sulawesi, J. Victor Mailangkay; members of DPRD of the North Sulawesi; Head of BPK Regional Office in North Sulawesi, Bombit Agus Mulyo; members of the North Sulawesi Province Regional Leadership Coordination Forum; as well as structural and functional officials from the BPK Regional Office in North Sulawesi.
