BPK Appreciates Efforts Made by Bali Provincial Government in Maintaining the Quality of Financial Reporting
DENPASAR, BPK Public Relations – Board Member II of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK), Daniel Lumban Tobing submitted Audit Reports on the Financial Statements of Bali Provincial Government for Fiscal Year 2024 during the Plenary Session of Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of Bali on Friday (6/6). Bali Provincial Government obtained an Unqualified Opinion as issues identified during the audit did not materially affect the fairness of its financial statements.
“BPK appreciates efforts made by Speaker of DPRD of Bali, along with Governor of Bali and their officials to continuously maintain the quality of financial reporting, reflecting financial accountability in the implementation of the duties of Bali Provincial Government,” said Board Member II of BPK.
On the same occasion, Board Member II of BPK also handed Summary of Regional Audit Reports (IHPD) Year 2024. The IHPD is expected to served as a resource for both Governor and representation of central government in the region, aims at strengthening their oversight role over district/city government and DPRD in supervising regional financial management and accountability.
Other than containing comprehensive information of the audit results, the IHPD also presents macroeconomics indicators that serve as valuable resources for evaluation and policy preparation of regional development. It is therefore expected that the regional financial management will be more orderly, transparent, and accountable.
BPK also emphasized the importance of following-up audit recommendations. Board Member II of BPK urged Bali Provincial Government to persistently implement concrete measures to complete the audit follow-ups and requested DPRD to monitor the progress of audit recommendation follow-ups within their authorities.
“The achievement of the Unqualified Opinion will be diminished if it is not accompanied by the improvement of welfare of the people of Bali. We hope that Bali Provincial Government will foster improved economic growth and reduce unemployment rate,” said Board Member II of BPK.
This event was attended by Speaker of DPRD of Bali, Dewa Made Mahayadnya, Governor of Bali, I Wayan Koster, Vice Governor of Bali, I Nyoman Giri Prasta, along with Vice Speakers and Members of DPRD of Bali, Director General of Audit II, Nelson Ambarita, Head of BPK Regional Office in Bali, and high-level officials of BPK Regional Office in Bali.
