BPK Invites UK NAO at Sharing Knowledge and Experience on The International Audit
JAKARTA, BPK Public Relations – As an effort to improve its capacity in promoting accountability and transparency of public sector through audit on international organizations, the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) invited United Kingdom National Audit Office (UK NAO) to present at Sharing Knowledge and Experience on the International Audit on Monday (7/11).
This virtual activity was attended by Director of Public Relations and International Cooperation, R. Yudi Ramdan Budiman, Director of Global Partnerships Center, Ikhtaria Syaziah, and audit teams of international organizations. Meanwhile, Director External Responsibilities, Damian Brewitt and Audit Manager, Simon Irwin attended as the resource persons from UK NAO.
Director of Public Relations and International Cooperation said in his opening remarks that BPK appreciated the willingness of UK NAO to present and share its experience both in auditing international organizations under the United Nations (UN) and in discussing issues of the UN external auditor forum. This activity was expected to be a good start for the two institutions to establish closer bilateral relationship and cooperation in the future.
“By working together, BPK and UK NAO can improve their capacities to more contribute in promoting accountability and transparency of public sector, particularly through audit on international organizations,” explained Director of Public Relations and International Cooperation.
Meanwhile, in his remarks, Director External Responsibilities of UK NAO expressed his gratitude for the invitation. He hoped that knowledge and experience delivered can be useful for BPK.
In his presentation, it was explained that international organizations under the UN are unique due to their different business processes. Therefore, having strategies are necessary in auditing their financial statements and analyzing their important accounts.
Other than hearing the presentation from UK NAO, the participants also had an opportunity to ask some questions and have discussion on international audits conducted by UK NAO.
