CAG India is Ready to Host SAI20 Summit This Year
Jakarta, Tuesday (31 January 2023) – On Tuesday, 31 January 2023, BPK officially handed over the presidency of SAI20 to the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India to oversee SAI20 in 2023 along with the transition of G20 Presidency from Indonesia to India.
Representing BPK, Secretary General, Bahtiar Arif, handed over the 2023 Chairmanship of SAI20 to Deputy CAG India, Ms. Parveen Mehta.
As host of the G20 Presidency in 2023, India will discuss inclusive, equitable and sustainable growth; LiFE concept; digital public infrastructure; and technology-based development in various fields covering health, agriculture, and education for commerce, and others.
SAI India expressed their appreciation for the success of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) in initiating Supreme Audit Institutions 20 (SAI20) and holding a series of SAI20 activities throughout 2022. This was conveyed by Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General, Parveen Mehta, during the SAI20 Chairmanship Handover activity, which was held in a virtually (31/01).
Thus, SAI India proposes two priorities that can be carried out by SAI when involved in the SAI20 multilateral forum, namely, (i) Blue Economy and (ii) Responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI). The two priority areas reflect very important issues, and require real and fast action through real collaboration.
To discuss and produce a consensus document in the form of a SAI20 communiqué, CAG India plans two meetings in 2023. Senior Officers Meeting (SOM) on March 13-15 2023 in Guwahati, Assam and SAI20 Summit on June 12-14, 2023, in Goa, India.
