Ready for ISO 37001:2016 Certification at BPK, Top Management Shows Commitment to Implementing Anti-Bribery Management System (SMAP) at BPK

JAKARTA, BPK Public Relations - Thursday (3/10), Chair of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) Isma Yatun accompanied by BPK Secretary General Bahtiar Arif, BPK Inspector General Suwarni Dyah Setyaningsih and Director General of Investigative Audit I Nyoman Wara welcomed BSI Group Country Manager Nolia Natalia and a team from BSI Group as SMAP ISO 37001: 2016 certification auditors at BPK RI Head Office, in Jakarta. This meeting is a form of commitment from BPK's top management to implementing the Anti-Bribery Management System (SMAP) at BPK

BPK continues to show its commitment to strengthening integrity by implementing SMAP as part of a strategic step to maintain transparency and accountability in the institution’s management. The certification is an international standard for anti-bribery management systems, providing “assurance” that BPK has taken necessary efforts to prevent corrupt practices and bribery within the institution.

The ISO 37001:2016 SMAP certification sets out guidelines and procedures for identifying, managing and minimizing bribery risks, which are aligned with the BPK's mission of fostering a clean and integrity workplace. This demonstrates BPK's true dedication to fight against bribery.

BPK is also committed to implementing, fulfilling, and periodically reviewing the SMAP requirements in order to effectively and consistently achieve its stated objectives. Through this policy, BPK seeks to continue to raise awareness among internal and external circles, by involving all parties with good faith and reasonable belief in the implementation of anti-bribery initiatives.

The implementation of SMAP is also an important part of the implementation of the Integrity Management Framework (KKMI) within BPK. With this system in place, it is expected to minimize potential financial and non-financial losses that could harm the institution's reputation.

Through the implementation of SMAP, BPK hopes to build public trust and ensure that every financial audit process adheres to the principles of high accountability and integrity.

The implementation of SNI ISO 37001:2016 SMAP at BPK began in April 2024, and has progressed through several stages, including the gap assessment, development and implementation, internal audit, and certification audit stage.
