BPK Appreciates the Government for Following Up Recommendations On PC-PEN Audit Findings

AKARTA, BPK Public Relations – Based on the result of the special-purposed audit of the Covid-19 pandemic response and the national economic recovery (PC-PEN) in the second semester of 2020, the BPK reveals problems of inefficiency and ineffectiveness related to the weakness of the internal control system and the non-compliance with laws and regulations resulting in state losses, lack of state revenues and administrative problems amounted up to 2,843 problems worth Rp2.94 trillion.

The BPK Director General of Audit II, Laode Nusriadi, conveys the matter in his presentation as a resource person at the National Working Meeting of the 2021 State Finance Accounting and Reporting held virtually on Tuesday.

He mentions that BPK had provided 5,754 recommendations stated in the audit report and discussions during the audit process.

"BPK appreciates the government for having been following up many recommendations accordingly," he said on the meeting attended by BPK Board Member III Achsanul Qosasi and Board Member V Bahrullah Akbar.

Based on the result of the audit, the Central Government Financial Statements has gained unqualified opinion with only two exceptional ministries.

"This achievement, which occurred during the Covid-19 pandemic, actually shows that the government has exceeded the target of the Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), requiring 91% of ministries/institutions gaining unqualified opinion. The realization reached 98%," he said.

However, BPK still finds problems, such as in the realization of the Covid-19 response programs that has not been fully identified and codified. BPK hopes that during the audit of 2021 Fiscal Year the problem will not reoccur.

Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati was present at the meeting with her keynote speech. Other participants included Ministers, Governors and Mayors throughout Indonesia.
