BPK Board Member Lectures The Student Officers of The Air Force Staff and Command School

LEMBANG, BPK Public Relations – The Board Member V of the Audit Board of the Republic Indonesia (BPK), Bahrullah Akbar, lectured the 57th Class of Student Officer (Pasis) of the Air Force Staff and Command School (Seskoau) in the School Campus in Lembang, on Tuesday (15/9/2020).

The lecture, with a topic ‘BPK and the State Financial Management’, was opened by the Commander of the School, Marsda TNI Samsul Rizal.

The lecture aims to give a thorough comprehension on the state financial management as well as to prepare the students who will be part of the state financial management officers, in the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) in particular, to perform their tasks and duties well.

The Board Member said that BPK has audit authority to perform checks and balances function that complemented the executive, legislative, and judicative authorities in the government system.

"Therefore, the BPK is an independent government institution that is not under either the executive nor the judicative authorities," he said.

Bahrullah Akbar explained that to improve welfare of the people, the BPK encourages the government to manage the state finance transparently and accountably. To support this, the BPK performs three types of audit namely, the financial audit, the performance audit, and the audit with special purpose.​

To 150 Student Officers of the Air Force Staff and Command School, Bahrullah presented not only the tasks and the authorities of BPK, but also the state financial management system. The presentation on the state financial management system enhanced the knowledge of the students on the state financial accountability.

In addition, the Board Member also presented the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic related audit. Through the audit, the BPK ensures that while handling the Covid-19 pandemic, the government kept managing the state finance in accordance with the principles of transparency and accountability as well as in compliance with the laws and regulations.

Bahrullah said that to support an accountable state financial management in handling the Covid-19 pandemic, the BPK would conduct a thorough audit. "The audit on the state financial management and accountability in handling the Covid-19 pandemic includes all of the ministries/institutions involved in the Covid-19 Response and National Economic Recovery Committee," he explained.​

Following the presentation, the students participated in the question and answer session. As many as 150 student officers attended the lecture either in person or in virtual platform.

Not only the student officers, the lecture was also attended by BPK Director General of Audit V, Akhsanul Khaq, Director of BPK Regional Office in West Java Province, Arman Syifa, Vice Commander of the School, Jemi Trisonjaya, and high-level officials both in the BPK and in the Air Force Staff and Command School (Seskoau).
