BPK Holds Webinar on Audit Preparation on Covid-19 Pandemic

JAKARTA, BPK Public Relations – The Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) through Training Institute for State Audit Finance (Badiklat PKN) held a webinar entitled “Audit Preparation on State Financial Management and Accountability in Handling the Impact of Covid-19 Pandemic” in Jakarta, on Tuesday (22/9/2020). Topic being discussed in the webinar was “Regional Government, Regional Public Hospital (RSUD), and Private Hospital Policies in Handling Covid-19 Pandemic in Indonesia”.

In this webinar, BPK presented five keynote speakers, namely Director General of Regional Administration Development of the Ministry of Home Affairs Safrizal Z. A., Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Rasyid Baswedan, Regional Secretary of Bali Province Dewa Made Indra, and Head of Indonesian Regional Public Hospital Association (ARSADA) and Secretary General of Indonesian Private Hospital Association (ARSSI), Heru Ariyadi and Iing Ichsan Hanafi.

BPK Chairman Agung Firman Sampurna said on his opening remarks that in this pandemic situation, audit model to promote transparency and accountability and responsively identify emerging problems is primary needed. With this, it is expected that they could immediately resolve the solutions.

“We are currently in the unfavorable situation, thus proper policy design as well as responsive and proactive implementation were highly awaited matter. Thus, BPK’s audit is performed,” BPK Chairman explained.

On this opportunity, BPK Chairman also emphasized that the audit is an important and strategic state instrument for mitigating any risks that potentially emerged in the emergency situation. Currently, audit teams from BPK’s Audit Units has been continuously gathered data and information since the last three months.

According to him, the webinar was also a part of updated audit plan and was an important step in the stages of conducted audit. Thus, the webinar was aimed at obtaining in-dept understanding on any policies taken by government, either central or regional government and RSUD or Private Hospitals in handling Covid-19 pandemic.

“A comprehensive understanding on the policies taken by these entities is expected to provide an adequate framework for the auditors in planning and carrying out audit so that the obtained identification, analysis, and evaluation on state financial management would be able to support efforts to deal with Covid-19 pandemic,” he said.

The webinar was also attended by BPK Vice Chairman Agus Joko Pramono, BPK Board Member I Hendra Susanto, and BPK Board Member V Bahrullah Akbar as the keynote speaker.

Moderated by Director General of Audit V Akhsanul Khaq, the webinar was attended by 750 participants consisting High Officials from BPK Audit Units, Audit Team Leaders and Audit Task Force on State Financial Management and Accountability in Handling the Impact of Covid-19 Pandemic.
