BPK Meets Commission XI to Discuss Audit Results

JAKARTA, BPK Public Relations – The Chairman of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK), Agung Firman Sampurna, received the Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) at the BPK Head Office in Jakarta on Monday. The Chairman said the meeting between BPK and Commission XI aimed at discussing the progress of the audit of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya (Persero) and PT ASABRI (Persero).

"We have just completed a consultation meeting between BPK and Commission XI. Some issues discussed related to the progress of the audit of PT Jiwasraya and PT ASABRI", the Chairman said at the press conference held after the meeting.

During the meeting, the Chairman, who was accompanied by the BPK Vice Chairman, Agus Joko Pramono, and BPK Board Members, also mentioned some matters related to audits conducted on working partners of Commission XI, including results of audits on State-Owned Enterprises, Public Service Agencies (BLU), as well as a number of other issues related to the management of the state finance. He further stated that BPK and Commission XI had agreed on several audit related matters.

"There were discussion about the audit on the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and suggestions to the BPK to conduct regular audits on the state capital participation of State-Owned Enterprises", he said before reporters.

The Speaker of the Commission XI of the House of Representatives, Dito Ganinduto, said the consultation meeting was held in relation to the progress of audits on PT Jiwasraya, PT ASABRI, and OJK. It had been agreed that the purpose of the audit was to find a solution. He further stated “the most important solution is to restore the rights of customers (as many as 5.5 million customers), including 17,000 investors of PT Jiwasraya".

The consultation meeting is an effort of the House of Representatives, especially the Commission XI, to obtain clearer information regarding audits conducted by the BPK. On the other hand, the meeting was also used by the BPK to provide explanations on audit results and discuss matters acquiring attention of the House of Representatives in the field of state finance management.
