BPK Urges the Government to Complete the Audit Recommendations

BOGOR, BPK Public Relations – Chairperson of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) Isma Yatun encourages the government to complete the recommendations, in order to optimize the quality of the Central Government Financial Statements (LKPP) as a form of government’s accountability in managing the state budget.

"From 2005 to 2021, BPK has submitted 19,802 findings to the audited entities based on the audits of LKPP, LKKL (ministries’ financial statements) and LKBUN (State General Treasurer’s financial statements) with 42,553 recommendations," the Chairperson said when handing over the audit report of the 2021 LKPP to President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo at the Bogor Palace, Thursday.

She also says that the monitoring result shows that 75 per cent of recommendations has been followed up accordingly, 19 per cent not accordingly, 5 per cent not been followed up and 1 per cent could not be followed up.

The Chairperson emphasizes that the follow up of audit recommendations is the basis for improving the government's performance in managing the state finance to be more effective and inclusive to realize the national welfare.

BPK provides unqualified opinion on the 2021 LKPP in all material respects, according to the Government Accounting Standards (SAP). The opinion is given based on the unqualified opinions obtained by 83 ministries/institutions and the State General Treasurer, which significantly affect the opinion gained by the LKPP.

As mandated by the law, the audit report of the 2021 LKPP has also been submitted to the House of Representatives (DPR) and the House of Regional Representatives (DPD) at the Plenary Sessions on June 14 and 15 respectively.

Also present at the meeting are BPK Board Member II Daniel Lumban Tobing, Board Member IV Haerul Saleh, Board Member VI Pius Lustrilanang and Board Member VII Hendra Susanto.
