PPID BPK Continues Improving the Quality Of Public Information Services

JAKARTA, BPK Public Relations - The Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) continues to strive to improve the quality of public information services. It is realized by opening the widest possible communication channels to accommodate information, criticism, and inputs from the public. Those channels include official website, Information and Communication Center, e-PPID portal, and the use of social media.

Vice Chairman Agus Joko Pramono says that the Law of Public Information Transparency requires public institutions to provide and/or publish public information under their respective authorities and make available to the public unless exempted by the Law.

"With the various communication channels we have, I hope that the BPK can convey information to stakeholders quickly and accurately," Vice Chairman said in his keynote speech on an online discussion on Public Information Transparency, Monday.

Moderated by Selvia Vivi Devianti, Director of BPK’s Public Relations and International Cooperation Bureau, the discussion presented resource persons namely Henri Subiakto, Senior Advisor of the Ministry of Communication and Information, and Blucer W. Rajagukguk, BPK’s Director General of Legal Affairs. It was also attended by Secretary General Bahtiar Arif as the PPID Supervisor and BPK officials, both from Head Office and Regional Offices, who serve as Advisors and Assistants to BPK’s Information and Documentation Management Officials (PPID BPK).

Vice Chairman hopes that PPID BPK should always refer to the Law of Public Information Transparency as their guidelines in managing public information services. According to him, the BPK does not work solely for the sake of the organization, but it also has to fulfill stakeholders’ needs as mandated by the Law.

"Therefore, I support this discussion as a form of BPK's accountability to stakeholders," he said, encouraging PPID BPK to work in accordance with their duties in managing information and documentation to produce accountable information for its stakeholders.

Packed in a casual chat, the discussion is a form of PPID’s communication discussing management of public information in the BPK, not only those related to audits, but also those related to non-audit public information.
